As the items gets used over time, I noticed that the flexible hinging portion stretches. As produced, this stretch causes the valve to touch the surrounding opposite side eventually leaving the valve open resulting in partial refilling of the bowl. Have trimmed it a bit therefore extending the life of the valve. Have not found a solution to eliminating the stretch. This item is a must have spare just the same along with the joker and generally from my experience, changed together to avoid the mess a second time...

Best feature: smooth,lightweight.
Negative: I use this as a main halyard winch. Once installed, I find I can only crank anti-clockwise to raise the sail. This is not ideal, and is much harder work...

Installation easy. Thread is compatible with another Pacific Aerial antenna. Signal is not distorted. comes with winterized cap. 5m was barely but enough for my 25' sail boat - I have installed it to the push pit top bar...

We are transitioning from our house to full-time life on the boat. We had Lagostina pots and pans that we had to give up as they take up too much room. This Magma set is very good quality and takes up very little space. If you want to do some serious cooking on the boat, but have very limited space, this cookware set will do the job...

This furler was the perfect fit for my boat however I have to knock some points off because it is a real pain to install.
The two halves of the foil come rolled up in the box and they are both rolled the same direction. This means when you flip one around to snap them together they will be fighting each other. This works in your favour when the furler is complete as it makes the foil quite rigid however it makes installing it quite the process. According to the manual this furler can be installed with the mast up but I would not recommend doing this.
Luckily I have access to a large heated garage and was able to lay out both halves of the foil and clamp them down and leave them for several days to lose some of their memory of being coiled up. This helped a lot but they still wanted to roll up a little and it still made it challenging to snap them together. Your best bet is to string up the forestay horizontally somewhere under some tension and assemble the furler on it that way.
Another note mine was damaged during assembly at the factory and shipped like that. Schaefer sent the parts to fix it no questions asked so bonus points for them for standing behind their product.
Overall it's a good furling system but be prepared for some frustration during the installation. Would definitely recommend recruiting a friend to help you if you can...
