Buford, GA, (July 25, 2007) -The new Gill version of the OC Racer line unveiled

this year is an off-the-shelf solution for ocean racing, targeted for the serious ocean

cruiser or racer.

Originally developed in 2001 with input from the top teams in the Volvo Series, the

new OC Racer line is comprised of the OC Racer Jacket, OC Racer Smock and OC

Racer trousers. Significant improvements in the new OC family of garments include

new design features on the OC Racer Jacket, such as the redesigned Ocean Height

hood and molded wrist tabs that enhance the jacket's flexibility, comfort and freedom

of movement.

"This next OC2 generation of garments reflects Gill's desire to offer racers foulweather

gear that offers the absolute maximum garment breathability by reducing

fabric overlays to a minimum," said Gill North America President David Pritchard.

"Gill's unique 5 Dot^TM three-layer fabric is not only highly breathable and durable, but

is windproof and water-repellent, designed to offer the utmost protection in the

harshest of offshore conditions."

The redesigned Ocean Height hood with faceguard on the OC Racer Jacket

provides greater comfort and practicality. Now, the hood fits and moves with the

head, resulting in greater visibility. Once stowed, the rollaway hood neatly packs

away into the outside of the collar, reducing the bulk against the neck.

To protect against the elements, the OC Racer Jacket includes fleece protection

behind the collar, plus water-resistant Riri Aqua^TM pocket zips, double storm flaps,

fully taped seams and inner PU cuffs. The position and volume of the fleece-lined

handwarmer pockets has been improved. In addition, Kevlar® reinforcement on the

cuffs and back area provide second-to none high abrasion resistance.

New molded wrist tabs are now more flexible and easier to adjust. Gill has also

altered the position of some of the high-visibility Reflexite® reflectives. While one

remains on the front storm flap, just below the neck, the other wrist reflectives have

been moved to the underside of the sleeve, naturally the best position to attract

attention if waving.

The OC Racer Smock derives from the same OC family of garments-all

constructed with uncompromising design constructed from fabric that offers the

highest level of garment "breathability," along with comfort and practical freedom of

movement. As a favorite with serious ocean racers, the OC Racer Smock is made

from Gill's signature three-layer fabric, made from a 100% nylon Oxford weave face

fabric, a non-porous breathable membrane and a nylon tricot backing scrim.

The lightweight OC Racer Smock also includes the radical new Ocean Height hood

design with fitted faceguard that enhances visibility and freedom of movement by

allowing the hood to fit and move with the wearer. In addition, the new stowaway

hood neatly fits against the neck without increased bulk or volume. Added new latex

neck and wrist seals on this version of the OC Racer Smock keep water out, while

water-resistant Riri Aqua^TMzips and a waterproof Riri Storm^TM zip also offer reliable

protection in strenuous weather conditions. Other features: fully taped seams for a

waterproof seal, life jacket attachment facility, fleece-lined handwarmer pockets, high

visibility Reflexite® reflectives and excellent Kevlar®-reinforced back and cuffs.

Designed for comfort and protection, the OC Racer Trousers are constructed from

the same highly durable, breathable and abrasion-resistant three-layer, 5 Dot^TM

fabric as the OC Jacket and OC Racer Smock.

For the maximum in abrasion-resistance, Gill has used Kevlar®, a material that is

water- oil- and tear-resistant, in high-wear areas, such as the knee and seat abrasion

areas in the OC Racer Trousers.

"It would take 136,000 revolutions of 360 git sandpaper against the seat area before

you would see any evidence of wear-the seat durability is absolutely off the charts,"

said David Pritchard, Gill North America president.

In addition, the trousers have a high-fit back and front zip with internal gusset for

improved warmth and wet weather protection. A secure, deep zippered thigh pocket

ensures that valuables are secure, while a multi-tool pouch provides easy access to

gear. Other features: fully taped seams for a waterproof seal; adjustable braces and

ankle closures for a comfortable fit.
