This hot water heater combines an electric element and a heat exchanger from the engine cooling water. I have found it very effective in both modes, and the good insulation ensures that it retains hot water for up to 24 hours.
It is the kind of device that you can install and forget about indefinitely, so long as you keep the space warm in the winter, or drain the fresh water out of it. My space heater broke down and with -13C outside for a period of days the Force10 froze and developed a small leak. The price to replace it s not high and I feel sure that it will now be trouble free for many years to come.
