The Garmin GLO™ 2 is a portable Bluetooth® GPS/GLONASS receiver designed to provide precise position data to compatible mobile devices, including iPad®, iPhone®, and Android™ smartphones and tablets. By using an external GPS receiver instead of a device’s built-in GPS, GLO 2 helps improve position accuracy, update rate, and satellite reception in a wide range of environments.
Using Bluetooth wireless technology, the GLO 2 pairs directly with your mobile device and streams real-time position data without requiring a physical data connection. Simply place the receiver within range of your device, and it begins supplying GPS data once paired.
GPS + GLONASS Satellite Reception
GLO 2 tracks both GPS and GLONASS satellite constellations, allowing it to connect to more satellites than receivers that rely on GPS alone. This dual-constellation capability helps the receiver acquire a satellite fix faster and maintain position accuracy in challenging conditions.
High-Rate Position Updates
The GLO 2 updates position information up to 10 times per second, delivering more frequent location updates than many built-in mobile device GPS receivers. This higher update rate can improve responsiveness for compatible navigation and mapping applications that support high-rate GPS input.
Wireless Bluetooth Connectivity
Position data is transmitted wirelessly to your mobile device using Bluetooth technology. This allows the receiver to be placed where satellite reception is strongest while your phone or tablet remains at the helm, in a vehicle, or in a convenient viewing location.
Portable Power with Flexible Charging
The receiver includes an internal rechargeable battery that provides up to 13 hours of typical use on a single charge. Charging between uses is simple using the included USB cable or the supplied 12/24 V DC power cable, making the GLO 2 suitable for extended trips and mobile use.
