This works great to hold the tiller in place for a minute when attending to something else. This is an absolute must if you sail solo and don't have an autohelm. The Tiller Tamer comes with a sufficient length of 1/4" rope. You also need two 1/4" clam cleats (not included) to secure the ends of the rope to your transom.
