As advertised, the lamp is solid brass and very nicely finished. When using the correct lamp oil it burns very clean and for a considerable length of time considering the small reservoir. A bit cumbersome to light and refill (have to take the bottom of the lamp off). For an oil lamp it's been very satisfactory. Highly recommended.
