BoatLIFE Life-Calk is a one-part polysulfide base caulking and sealant designed specifically for the demands of marine use. Whether you're rebedding a cleat, sealing an underwater seam, or caulking teak deck planking, Life-Calk delivers a firm yet permanently flexible rubber seal that keeps water out and stays put through years of structural movement, vibration, and temperature swings.

This 3 fl. oz. (80 ml) tube is a convenient size for smaller jobs, touch-ups, and onboard repair kits. It's available in White, Black, and Mahogany to match your boat's finish.

Where to Use Life-Calk on Your Boat

Life-Calk is remarkably versatile. It performs reliably in a wide range of marine sealing applications, both above and below the waterline.

• Teak deck seams and plank caulking
• Bedding deck hardware such as cleats, stanchions, and handrails
• Sealing thru-hull fittings and underwater seams
• Bonding to fibreglass, wood, metal, glass, and previously cured Life-Calk

Paintable, Sandable, and Fuel-Resistant

Once fully cured, Life-Calk can be sanded smooth and painted over, allowing you to achieve a clean, finished appearance. It also offers excellent resistance to teak oils, gasoline, and diesel fuel — an important consideration around fuel fills, engine compartments, and oiled teak surfaces.

Note that Life-Calk is not compatible with all paints. Specifically, it is not compatible with Sikkens Cetol or Deks Olje. When painting over cured Life-Calk, test a small area first. If the paint does not dry in a reasonable time, a latex primer can be applied before topcoating.

How Life-Calk Cures

Life-Calk is a moisture-cure sealant, meaning it absorbs moisture from the surrounding atmosphere to cure. Under standard conditions of 24°C (75°F) and 50% relative humidity, it becomes tack-free in approximately 24 hours. Full cure for a 1/8-inch thickness takes roughly 10 days, while a 1/4-inch thickness requires about 20 days under the same conditions.

Higher humidity or even submersion in water will actually accelerate the cure. This makes Life-Calk well suited to Canadian boating environments where damp conditions are common, and it means you can confidently apply it for emergency repairs even when surfaces are wet.
