Simple remote control through a smart device enables an unprecedented onboard communication experience. The product features a colour display, navigation functions, and a stylish design that won an iF Design 2022 award.
It can be used on pleasure, fishing, sail, rescue and public safety vessels.
The NMEA 2000™ network provides plug-and-play data communication to inter-connect with other marine equipment such as an MFD (Multi-Function Display.) The radio can send GNSS (GPS) position, AIS information*, DSC call, and radio channel data to other equipment.
When connected to the optional SP-37 speaker horn, you can talk with the crew on the deck or shore via the radio's microphone and hear any reply via the horn speaker. The RX hailer function lets you listen to the radio traffic on the deck or tower through the hailer speaker. You can also sound foghorn patterns from the hailer speaker.
Use the RS-M500 app (for iOS/Android) to wirelessly control the IC-M510 EVO through the radio's WLAN feature. You can use up to three smart devices as a wireless microphone, an intercom between a device and the M510, and a simple remote control for specific functions.
The colour TFT LCD provides nearly a 180-degree viewing angle. The wide-viewing angle display has high-resolution characters and function icons. Hold down the DISP key to switch to the Night mode screen, ensuring good readability in low-light conditions.
Built-in Class D DSC "Distress" Button can be a lifesaver in an emergency situation. With just a press of the "DISTRESS" button, the built-in DSC (Digital Selective Calling) system can digitally transmit distress information to the Coast Guard and/or other vessels. The DSC watch function continuously monitors the DSC channel (Ch. 70) for added safety and security.
The radio's built-in 15W waterproof speaker enhances the received audio and provides powerful, clear audio.
With an optional external Icom MA-510TR or third-party AIS receiver/transponder, the IC-M510 EVO can show real-time AIS vessel traffic information on the display. You can also directly make an individual DSC call to selected AIS targets from the AIS screen.
The Navigation function guides you to a specified waypoint or AIS target. You can assign up to 100 destinations as waypoints, such as your favourite fishing spots or starting positions for yacht races.
The Active Noise Cancelling digitally removes background noise from both transmit and receive audio and provides clear communication in a noisy maritime environment.
