Ocean Signal E100 EPIRB Category 2

This EPIRB's UIN is programmed for registration in Canada

Ocean Signal has developed the SafeSea E100 EPIRB Category II to meet the needs of all commercial, fishing and leisure vessels.

The SafeSea E100 fulfills all mandatory requirements of an EPIRB. A high precision internal oscillator allows the satellites to calculate position using Doppler shift.

SafeSea EPIRB's operate in the 406MHz satellite band monitored by Cospas-Sarsat, the international satellite operator, ensuring a signal can be located wherever it is activated around the globe.

The E100 SafeSea EPIRB Cat II is also equipped with the 121.5 MHz frequency for aircraft homing, and has a high brightness LED strobe light for fast on-scene location.

The Ocean Signal SafeSea battery's operating life is the highest in the industry and is user-replaceable.

Features:
  • Easy release mounting bracket provided standard
  • Extreme battery life even at low temperatures
    • In excess of 96 hours of operation
  • User-replaceable battery with five-year replacement interval
  • Intuitive operating controls protected from accidental activation
  • Meets or exceeds all International standards
  • Class 2 EPIRB (-20°C - +55°C) for general use
  • Non-hazardous battery
  • Replacement battery - Binnacle ID# 44501
NOTE: Category II beacons are designed to be manually deployed from the bracket and then activated manually or placed in the water to activate automatically. Two conditions must be met for a Category II beacon to automatically activate: It must be removed out of its bracket. And, It must be wet (i.e. placed in the water). Either condition, by itself, will not automatically activate the beacon.

NOTE: All PLB and EPIRB products sold by The Binnacle are Canadian UIN Coded and require registration with Government of Canada's online Canadian Beacon Registry System. See Requirements Tab for more information on how to register.

It is mandatory for all Canadian 406 MHz ELTs, PLB's and EPIRBs to be registered with the Canadian Beacon Registry.

Ensuring that your 406 MHz PLB, ELT or EPIRB is registered, as well as updating the information regularly, will facilitate the task for search and rescue personnel in the event of a distress situation.

If you have a registered emergency beacon, it is important that the information be accurate.

Please update the information in the registry:
  • if you move
  • if you want to update the emergency contact information
  • if your phone number changes, or
  • if any of the important information in the registry changes such as the color of vessel or aircraft.
Online access to the Canadian Beacon Registry is available to all 406 MHz emergency beacon owners to register new emergency beacons or to update their current information.

You can add or update your emergency beacon information online, by faxing or emailing a completed registration form, or by speaking with a representative:
